Hailing from Santa Maria, CA is where the birth of one of the most fun and greatest cooking methods was formed. The fuel source in that region was red oaks and the food that was cooked was typically cuts like top-block sirloin, seasoning with salt, pepper and garlic. In the 1950’s, a local Santa Maria butcher named Bob Schultz introduced the tri-tip, a triangular cut from the bottom portion of the sirloin, to his customers. Time marched on and “Santa Maria” style grilling grew in popularity. Like the tri-tip, the Santa Maria grill is gaining popularity across the United States. Crank It Up Grills is excited to introduce our Midwest take on live fire cooking and providing a cooking experience like no other. The term Crank it up was inspired by utilizing the crank on our LiveFire crank system by raising and lowering our cooking surface allowing the pit-master to functionally cook low and slow or hot and fast on their choice of wood splits ranging from Hickory, Oak and sweet woods. We invite you to take your grill game to the next level with Crank It Up Grills Live Fire grills.
